The General Auditing Commission (GAC), in collaboration with Internal Audit Governance Board Secretariat (IAGBS), will on Thursday, September 6, 2012 hold a retreat for its employees. This program which will last for a day will highlight key areas in the Auditing profession.
The retreat aims at scrutinizing areas of importance to both the GAC and IAGBS and will cover the following:
Agreeing on and understanding the individual role and requirements for both the commission and AIGBS so as to avoid unnecessary duplications or overlapping;
Risks facing the auditor’s clients, thereby ensuring that more focus on audit efforts can be planned and transformed into Audit Interventions;
Better co-ordination of both internal and external audit activity based on joint planning and communication of needed information;
Identification of specific audit projects that can be jointly carried out, with specified role to be played by each of the entities and
Identifying areas of possible conflicts or unwarranted overlapping of functions and developing effective ways to professionally remedy such situation.
The retreat which is expected to be attended by Executives of the both the GAC and IAS and will take place at the Mamba Point Hotel in Monrovia.
