Several senior staff members, along with the Acting Auditor General, Mr. Winsley S. Nanka and his Deputy for Administration, Mr. Taweh J. Veikai of the General Auditing Commission on Monday, April 9, 2012 gathered at a local restaurant to bid Mr. Ron M. Mwambwa, affectionately call “Ron” by the GAC staff farewell.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the farewell bouquet, Acting Auditor-General Mr. Winsley Nanka, wished the Head of the EU Long Term Technical Assistance (EU-LTTA) assigned at the GAC the best as he leaves for his home land, Zambia. The Acting Auditor-General extolled Ron for the cordial working relationship that exists between EU and the GAC, adding that Ron has worked assiduously in strengthening the work force of the Commission in terms of capacity-building. “Since my arrival at the GAC, Ron has been here and has provided the necessary expertise in the development of GAC,” Mr. Nanka said. He however maintained that he and the entire GAC family wished him well in his endeavors.
Making his farewell remarks, Ron said he was grateful to the EU, GAC and the Liberian people, indicating that besides Zambia, his homeland, Liberia is the next County in which he has stayed for so long, and as such he has considered Liberia his second home. He maintained that he will remain committed to serving the people of Liberia through the GAC, if he is called upon to return to Liberia.
Mr. Ron has over the years served as the Head of the EU Long Term Technical Assistance (EU-LTTA) at the GAC. He arrived in the Country in January 2007 and has since been assigned at the GAC. He served as former Deputy Auditor General for the Republic of Zambia. With his level of experience, Ron worked closely with the Office of the Auditor-General in building a World Class Supreme Audit Institution in Liberia, which is the GAC.
