The General Auditing Commission (GAC) on Thursday, February 9, 2012, certificates sixty five (65) employees from the GAC and Ministry of Finance who successfully passed the Certified Fraud Examination (CFE) Certification examination following three months of intensive training under the sponsorship of the General Auditing Commission.
The training, which was conducted by the Executive Director of the Kenyan Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Jane Mugo, started on the 18th, October and ended December, 2011. The certification which brings a total of forty seven (47) staff from the General Auditing Commission and eighteen (18) staff members from the Ministry of Finance kicks off at about 10AM at the Cape Hotel in Mamba Point.
These trainees, upon completion, automatically become members of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), an umbrella organization of all Certified Fraud Examiners. The certification is a boost to the capacity-building of the commission’s employees, something which gears towards the opening Chapter of Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) in Liberia.
The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) represents the largest pool of anti fraud knowledge in the world with more than 55,000 members in 165 countries. The ACFE was founded by former law enforcement professionals who recognized that the prevention and deterrence of fraud can only be realized through forging strong public and private sector relationships.
The CFE certification program is part of the GAC’s professional and human resource capacity development policy, something which is embedded in its strategic plan.
The program is expected to be graced by Senior Government Officials, our International Partners and the heads of participating institutions at the Cape Hotel in Mamba Point.
